Since our founding, we have worked with 34 colleges and universities to bring unique writing, investigative reporting, and powerful community stories to our readers. Those stories range from the opioid crisis in a small Vermont community, to the experience of asylees fleeing violence in Central America, and numerous others. Our mission is to invigorate the next generation of journalists by building a startup that fills the gap left by the decline of local media across the United States.
We are grateful to the numerous donors that have supported and challenged us to achieve our goals. Without their backing, we would not be able to compensate our correspondents around the country and world.
In order to continue supporting our growing base of writers, we need your help. Please consider making a tax-deductible contribution to The Contemporary. Simply follow this link, check “Give to an area of my choice” and search for “The Contemporary.”
